the ethics

Why 1 mask = 5 meals?
Right now disadvantaged communities in India need jobs & food. Through our dashing masks initiative we can provide both.
1. Employment for tailors. 2. Employment for street food sellers. 3. Hearty meals for people who really need them.

How?
By giving away all profits from dashing masks that gives us about $1.75 (USD). 35 cents (USD) can buy a dosa (south indian breakfast), a plate of pani puri (delicious mid-day snack) or a plate of Biriyani. So the proceeds of just one mask will feed 5 people.
To further help our community all meals will be provided by street food vendors who have also been out of work for months during the lockdown. With restrictions continuing, their opportunities to earn a living are still limited.

Who will we feed?
We will pay our street food vendors to make plates of food for free outside train stations where migrant workers are waiting to go home. On the streets of Delhi, to people left destitute by the economic fall out. Outside containment zones in poorer areas where people can not leave, work or even get groceries. And yes, we will be checking up on them to make sure all meals are provided.

Multi layered filters

Fabric masks are not medical grade PPE (personal protective equipment). But medical grade masks are in short supply, why don't we leave the medical grade masks to medical professionals?

Our goal was to make the best reusable masks possible; that offer superior protection than regular fabric ones.

So what's inside? Following advice from scientific studies, we have made all our masks with 3 layers:
  1. Inner layer of densely woven cotton 600 count cotton. Breathable but densely woven enough to act as barrier to larger particles.
  2. A chiffon middle layer. This fabric natural creates friction through static charge which attracts small particles.
  3. A looser weave outer layer for breath-ability. From seersuckers to jacquard shirts; printed cotton to full sequins; lace to velvet; we have carefully selected fabrics that retain breath-ability but also look great!

Shipping & International sales
We ship worldwide by reliable courier partners such as DHL to Europe & Fedex to the USA. Worldwide shipping is at a fixed rate of $15.00 (USD) per order. That's 15 dollars total, if you order 1 mask or 10 or even 20!

how to insert your own filter
We have made every effort to make our reusable & washable masks as effective as possible.
Should you wish to add an additional filter you can do so easily with our origami inspired fold design. Just trim to required size and insert.
Sizing
We offer 2 sizes, Small & Regular.
Small will fit most teenagers from 11 years-16 years.
Regular will fit most adults.

If you are adult & petite, you can buy teenager sizes in stores, you find hats can often be large for you, then small size will fit you better.
If none of the above apply to you you need our regular size.

Do note the elasticated cord fastenings and additional elasticated back strap allows our masks to fit nearly every size.

Due to the nature of this product we can not accept any returns.

What is a back strap convertor?
What is this?
A small elasticated strap that fastens to the ear loops of your mask. This allows you to wear your mask in one of two ways, behind the ears with the ear loops or around the back of your head, however your comfortable.

The strap is easily removable, machine washable & made in the same fabric as your mask. (Except the sequin & velvet masks, with these you will receive a black cotton back strap that matches the elastic ear loops).

What are your oversized ear ties?
Optional on our lux collection face masks are oversized silky ear ties.

Made from bemberg cupro they are silky but still breathable. Bemberg cupro is made from the cotton plant and is also known as "tailor's silk". We love it, it feels like silk but breathes like cotton, a winning combination!

Our masks made with these ear ties also have elastic ear fastenings, so the silk ties are just for show.
Tie them in a bow, round the back of your head or let them hang free like a xena princess warrior!
